Division III John Carroll University Wide Receiver Tyren Montgomery is playing like the best player on the field.
Tyren Montgomery has never played football until his Junior year in college after playing basketball his whole life. In a story that is too crazy to believe, Montgomery latches on at John Carroll, a Division III school, and posted insane numbers. He had 1,071 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns on only 57 receptions in 2024. In 2025, he caught 119 passes for 1,528 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns, earning him First Team All-American honors.
At 5’11 and 190 pounds Tyren Montgomery is playing much larger than his true size and the basketball skills show up on his releases. He has made some of the top defensive backs in the Senior Bowl look like JV players on some of his releases off the line. He has some amazing contested catches in one on one sessions.
PFF and other NFL Draft databases do not have any information on Tyren Montgomery, that will soon change after his performance at the Senior Bowl. Montgomery has gone from undrafted to a for sure draft pick, his athletic testing will be the next factor in how high he will be drafted.
