Caleb Douglas is a wide receiver and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who finished his collegiate career at Texas Tech after two seasons at the University of Florida. A native of Missouri City, Texas, Douglas was a four-star recruit who chose the Gators over Power Five programs including USC, LSU, and Notre Dame. He appeared in 15 games across two seasons at Florida but his sophomore year was cut short after fracturing his fibula, limiting him to just 21 receptions for 208 yards and three touchdowns during his time in Gainesville. He transferred to Texas Tech for the 2024 season and broke out immediately, catching 60 passes for 877 yards and six touchdowns while earning second-team All-Big 12 honors and becoming the Red Raiders' top receiver. He followed that with another strong senior campaign, leading the team with 846 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 54 receptions, becoming the first Texas Tech receiver to post back-to-back 800-yard seasons, and earning invitations to the Senior Bowl and the NFL Scouting Combine. His father played quarterback collegiately at both Vanderbilt and Texas Southern.
Listed at 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds with long arms and prototypical X-receiver dimensions, Douglas is a smooth, long-striding boundary receiver who uses his frame and build-up speed to eat cushion against off coverage and win vertically when given a runway. He is a patient, tempo-based route runner who works head fakes and hesitations to freeze corners, and he finished among the Big 12 leaders in explosive plays of 20-plus yards during the 2025 season. His limitations center on below-average first-step explosion and lean play strength at the catch point, which can affect his production against physical press coverage and in contested situations. Douglas projects as a Day 3 selection with the size, length, and speed to develop into a productive split end in an offense that uses vertical and play-action concepts to take advantage of his frame.
