Avieon Terrell Bio

Avieon Terrell

Avieon Terrell is a cornerback and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who played three seasons at Clemson. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Terrell is the younger brother of Atlanta Falcons All-Pro cornerback A.J. Terrell and attended Westlake High School, the same program that produced his brother, before committing to the Tigers. He was a four-star recruit in the 2023 class and played in 13 games with five starts as a true freshman, recording 19 tackles, four pass breakups and one interception. His sophomore season in 2024 was a significant step forward as he started all 14 games, posted 64 tackles, 13 pass breakups, two interceptions and three forced fumbles, earning Second-Team All-ACC honors and becoming the first Clemson player under Dabo Swinney to finish a season with three-plus forced fumbles, multiple interceptions and multiple fumble recoveries in the same year. In 2025 he earned First-Team All-ACC honors, was named a Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist and became the first Clemson cornerback to receive AP All-America recognition since 2016, with 48 tackles, nine pass breakups, three sacks and five forced fumbles, the latter setting a Clemson single-season record for a defensive back. His career total of eight forced fumbles set the Clemson all-time record at the position. He finished with 128 tackles, 30 pass breakups and three interceptions across 39 games.

Measured at 5-foot-10 and 186 pounds with a 4.39-second 40-yard dash and a 31-inch arm length, Terrell is an explosive, quick-twitch cornerback whose defining trait is an aggressive, disruptive style that generates turnovers at a rate uncommon for the position. He plays with exceptional hip fluidity and fluid acceleration out of breaks, allowing him to carry receivers downfield and arrive at the catch point with the timing to dislodge the ball rather than simply contest it. His ability to force fumbles through precise punch technique, combined with four career sacks, illustrates a physical aggression that will translate to NFL coaching staffs who prize competitive corners. His brother's pedigree and the Clemson cornerback development pipeline give him built-in credibility with evaluators. The primary concerns are his below-average size and 186-pound frame, which creates matchup challenges against bigger NFL receivers at the catch point and in press coverage, and a modest interception total relative to his forced incompletion production. His development in zone coverage also needs continued refinement. Most evaluations project him as a late first-round to early second-round pick with starting upside in both outside and slot roles, particularly in man-heavy schemes that allow his competitive instincts to create turnovers.
