ESPN is reporting that disgraced former Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby hopes to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft, if one is held.

Brendan Sorsby was never going to play another snap for Texas Tech after he placed bets on the Red Raiders, regardless of his official eligibility status. His presence in the NCAA would have been such a stain on the integrity of the league that programs around the country were lining up to ban Texas Tech from their schedules.

 

After being shunned by Texas Tech, Sorsby now hopes that the NFL will facilitate a supplemental draft to allow him to continue playing football at the professional level. The dual-threat quarterback posted an 81.5 College QBR and an 8.3 College Yards Per Attempt while tying for third nationally with 36 total touchdowns during his 2025 campaign at Cincinnati. If the NFL approves his eligibility, quarterback-needy franchises will submit blind bids using future draft assets to secure a prospect possessing elite physical traits.

 

Sorsby will be a coveted asset in fantasy football superflex dynasty leagues. Character concerns should not prevent dynasty managers from bidding their full FAAB budget to acquire Sorsby, if he becomes available in the player pool.
