The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Cooper DeJean with the No.40 pick in the NFL Draft.
The Eagles traded up to select their second cornerback of the 2024 NFL Draft in Cooper DeJean. A weakness turns into a strength as DeJean will now pair with Philadelphia’s first round pick Quinyon Mitchell to create one of the most dynamic young cornerback tandems in the NFL. Considering they had one of the worst pass defenses in the league last season, it’s safe to say we should see major improvement in 2024.
Howie Roseman does it again and completes a masterclass through two days of NFL Draft action. Many were critical of the Eagles not addressing their secondary early in the offseason, but they’ve done that and then some with DeJean and Mitchell. While there could be growing pains early on, both players should be in the starting lineup sooner rather than later.
