The Indianapolis Colts have acquired star cornerback Sauce Gardner from the New York Jets for two first-round picks and AD Mitchell.
What an all-in move by the Indianapolis Colts as they acquire one of the premier corners in the league. A team that caught many fans by surprise with the resurgence of Daniel Jones now bolsters the defensive side of the ball on a team with Super Bowl aspirations.
Trading for Gardner, who is under contract through 2030, gives the secondary a massive boost, which was one of the few weaknesses on this potent Colts team. Paying two first-round picks and Adonai Mitchell looks like a steep price to pay, but with 20 tackles and six pass breakups on the season, they are assets well spent. Mitchell is a throw-in piece of the deal and not fantasy relevant, but he will look to get some traction in a wide-open Jets receiving room behind Garrett Wilson.
