According to head coach Jonathan Gannon, Jacoby Brissett will get the start over Kyler Murray on Monday night against Dallas. The reasoning is that Murray’s foot is not fully healed. Gannon said they will evaluate Murray in the next [36] hours to see if he may have a role on Monday in some capacity. Regardless, Brissett draws the start.

When asked follow-up questions, the head coach dismissed talk that Murray’s absence is at all related to the trade rumors surrounding the quarterback in advance of Tuesday’s deadline. When asked if the injury could potentially linger further into the season’s second half, Gannon was noncommittal but also said that the injured reserve (IR) is not currently an option.

For Brissett and fantasy managers, the 32-year-old has a dream matchup with a porous Cowboys pass defense. He is a streaming option for managers looking for a solid plug-and-play option in their Week 9 lineups.
